The history behind ShoreLink Shipping

Its history goes as far back as 1889 when JW Grundberg & Co started its ship clearance business in Örnsköldsvik.

The business was expanded in the 1960s through the acquisition of Philip Björkeroth & Son's business in Piteå, which was renamed Grundbergs Shipping. In 1995 the company was acquired by Bottenvikens Stuveri AB.

In Skellefteå, Philip Björkeroth & Son started clearance operations in 1928. In 1945, John Dahl bought the majority of the business and changed the name to Dahl & Björkeroth. In 1982 the company became part of Bottenvikens Stuveri. In Skellefteå, Risberg Shipping has also been a player and became part of Bottenvikens Stuveri in 1988. In 2005, Grundbergs Shipping and Risberg Shipping merged with Dahl & Björkeroth and two years later the company changed its name to Bay of Bothnia AB.

The history of the Luleå operation also goes back to 1889 when Larson & Lind was founded. In 1983 they bought Luleå Shipping AB, which was previously called Luleå Spedition AB. The company became part of Bottenvikens Stuveri in 2012.

In 1956, they started operating at SCA's paper mill. Over the years, they have greatly expanded their assignments with more machines and a larger workforce as a result.

In 1977, the truck operations at SCA's were taken over by Bottenvikens Stuveri AB and in connection with this, the bus operations were discontinued. Three years later the company was bought by Bottenvikens Stuveri.
